He believes that hard work, good decision-making, and consistent execution will always outweigh raw talent or big ideas on their own. Everyone has ideas — what separates the ones that matter is the willingness to show up every day and do the work to make them real.

Background

Born and raised in New York City, Zachary has been an entrepreneur his entire life. His journey began in streetwear and fashion, founding Solepreme Con and organizing dozens of events across New York City, Los Angeles, and London. The events attracted significant attention, earning coverage from Hypebeast, Complex, and the LA Times.

Zachary went on to attend the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado Boulder where he graduated in May 2020 with a degree in Data Science. He launched a Covid supply company before turning his attention to healthcare technology.

The Bask Health Story

Together with his twin brother Elias Dorf, Zachary founded what would become Bask Health. The brothers initially spent nine months and practically every dollar they had building a direct-to-consumer telehealth platform called Lash by Bask, selling eyelash enhancement products. They built the entire stack from scratch — patient intake, provider matching, e-prescribing, fulfillment — only to hit a wall. Google and Facebook wouldn't let them advertise prescription products. Customer acquisition was impossible. They ran out of money.

Both felt down on their luck. With nothing left in the bank, they needed a pivot or a way to make use of the nine months of heads-down building they had just gone through. So for the next four months, they decided to sell the software they wrote to power Lash. They threw up a website — and days later, the emails started pouring in. Entrepreneurs had found the site and wanted to know: can you build us a telehealth platform like this? Not one or two. Dozens.

So they signed a few of those early clients onto a platform that barely existed yet, listened to what they actually needed, and started building. Six months later they had the bones of a real product. They kept going. Almost four years later, they're still building — and what started as duct tape and determination has become a robust, enterprise-scale system that powers over 100 telehealth brands and has processed more than $1.2 billion in transactions.

That's how Bask Health was built — not in a boardroom, not with a grand plan, but one customer at a time, one feature at a time, by two brothers who refused to stop shipping.
